Article marketers can be separated into two different categories.  There are those who believe in maintaining the highest quality standards.  Then there are those who believe in using any shortcuts available to them in order to maximize their results regardless of quality.  Which category would you put yourself in?

White Hat High Quality Article Marketers

The people who believe in maintaining high quality standards are what we call White Hat internet marketers.  They want to generate publicity, links and traffic for their websites using only methods that are approved by search engines.  Actually, the methods that they use might not really be condoned or encouraged by the search engines.  It just might be that the search engines don’t disapprove of their methods.

A white hat article marketer would be someone who writes and publishes each article manually by hand while focusing mainly on the quality of the content.  They would write all original one hundred percent unique articles based on the knowledge they possess in their brains as well as some information they may have gathered through research.

Black Hat Article Marketers

If you are using article spinners to generate articles for your marketing purposes then you are a black hat marketer.   Most of the people who fall into this category refuse to admit that what they are doing is black hat, but it is.  You might try to make yourself feel better by denying it, but the truth is the truth.  Anyone who uses a software program to randomize words, paragraphs or sentences so that they can automate and leverage their marketing efforts is engaging in black hat tactics.  It is as plain and simple as that.

The companies who sell the article spinners and who operate the article spinning and distribution services will try to make you feel less dirty about it by telling you that it isn’t really black hat, but it is black hat.

What Are The Advantages and Disadvantages of Each Method

White hat article marketing takes a lot more time and effort.  Your results will come much slower if you are using article marketing for SEO purposes.  If you are using article marketing to try to generate raw click through traffic then you need to use white hat methods.  White hat article marketing should give you longer lasting results if you are doing it well because your articles can be published on higher quality websites and can remain indexed for years.  White hat articles have the potential to become really powerful sources of links, where spun articles are limited because of the quality of the domains that will allow you to publish them.

Black hat article spinning will get you faster ranking results if you are using articles solely for the purpose of generating backlinks for your site.  You can publish hundreds of articles and get hundreds of backlinks in the same time as it would have taken you to publish two or three articles using white hat methods.  Black hat article marketing is far more efficient for low and medium competition keyword targets.  It will not get you top ranking results by itself for high competition keywords.

What Category Do You Fall Into?

I am not here to pass judgment on you.  Everyone has their own agenda and their own moral code.  I have used all the techniques both white hat and black hat.  People use article spinning and distribution because it works.  It saves them a lot of time and it works so long as you are willing to keep doing it indefinitely.

If you want long lasting ranking results with your website then you are eventually going to have to invest time and effort into getting some white hat kinds of links that are going to last long term.  Or else you are going to have to invest in some paid sources of more powerful links that will also give you lasting results.
